Location: Towson, MD
Abilities Network, a multiple year winner of the Baltimore Sun's Top Workplace award, is looking for a part-time Team Leader as part of our Move Management Team. As a Team Leader you will function as the on-site manager of a team that works to pack and unpack household goods and personal belongings, with an emphasis on caring and courteous service to help seniors through the process of downsizing. This is a part-time position which averages 15-25 hours a week, with the possibility of more during busier seasons.

What will I do at Abilities Network?
  • Function as the on-site manager of Move Management operations.
  • Assist with developing the plan for each move and implement the plan onsite.
  • Supervise staff during the move and direct them in efficient packing and unpacking procedures.
  • Responsible for addressing client concerns and easing the client through the move process.
  • Function as the point of contact for vendors, including movers, auctioneers, appraisers, charity pick-up staff, and clean-out crews.
  • Pack and unpack, by hand, household goods and personal belongings. Use good judgment when wrapping, stacking and packing items into proper containers.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Sort materials with input from the client. Provide personal assistance and emotional support to clients as needed.

Requirements
What does Abilities Network need from me?
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Superior customer service skills as well as the ability to be compassionate, empathetic and socially perceptive required.
  • Good communication skills, including active listening skills and the ability to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving of your whole body.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group to complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Must be willing to be on-call (typically with 2+ weeks notice) as necessary to fulfill the duties of the position. Must be able to commit to completing each assigned move; typically 2-3 days per move.
