Position Summary
The Student Life Department is recruiting for two part-time Student Workers for the Fall 2026 semester. This position works to support the daily operations of the Student Life Office and Event Hall Space in the Student Success Center. Typical duties will include assisting with Club and Student Life events, assisting with Student Success Center events, and general office duties. This position assists with student, employee, and community inquiries while assisting in fostering an environment of exceptional customer service. This position also assists in maintaining the social media account for Student Life.
Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Performs general office/clerical functions
  1. Provides information on student life events, clubs and organizations, and student center offerings to students, employees, and the community
  1. Maintains effective working relationships with students, VC employees, and the community
  1. Assists with setting up Student Life and Student Success Center Event Hall events which may include setting up tables & chairs, microphones, and food service equipment
  1. Assists with Student Life events which may include prepping for events, serving food, and encouraging student participation
  1. Maintains a clean office space and updates materials (brochures, flyers, etc.) throughout the Student Life office and Event Hall space
  1. Maintains the Student Life and Community Bulletin Boards around campus
  1. Assists with Student Life social media platforms
  1. Performs all other duties as assigned by Director and Assistant

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in the fall and spring, and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session
  • Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses
  • English proficiency
  • Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented

Physical Demands
The position is 80% physical labor and 20% administrative work. Physical labor includes both heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. and light lifting up to 10 lbs. Also includes the ability to safely push, pull, carry, or frequently lift objects such as tables, podiums, chairs, and other event objects. Must have the ability to stand for a minimum of two (2) hours without a break, walk, and use stairs all necessary for the set-up of events.
