Job description

NOW HIRING:
Part Time Pharmacy Tech or Experienced Trainee - 3801 S. Lamar location
Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.
The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely, and accurately to fill patient prescriptions while providing a unique customer experience.
This is a part-time position, approximately 24 - 32 hours per week.
Requirements:
  • Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
  • Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role, variable locations)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
  • 6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating Saturdays (closed on Sundays)
  • Able to lift at least 30 lbs and stand for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic)
  • Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
  • Answer phones and assist patients with questions
  • Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues
  • Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications
  • Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed

Starting Pay: $17.00 - $21.00/hour (Based on certification level + experience)
