Responsibilities

The Central Branch YMCA seeks an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Personal Trainer to join our team by conducting personal training sessions and fostering relationships with YMCA members while walking them through a safe and effective wellness journey.

  • Nurture: Help our members grow primarily in body while also tending to mind and spirit.
  • Transform: Through your guidance, help members see past what they thought possible.
  • Collaborate: Design effective workout routines not for but with our members to best fit their needs and goals.

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, PE, or other health-related field required.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm.
  • Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
  • An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Must have valid certification including: NSCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, NETA, ISSA or obtain ACE/YMCA Strength and Conditioning certification prior to training clients and be able to maintain certifications and other training requirements for the position as outlined.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $19.50-$20.00 hourly
