Job description

Position:Member Services Representative

Wage:$17.13 to $17.28 per hour, depending on qualifications(Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Shift:Weekday Availability, 8AM-6PM
Location:Lakewood Family YMCA, Lakewood, WA
As a Member Services Representative, you are the friendly face that greets and welcomes members and guests to our Y facility. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service to our current members and potential members to ensure they have an enriching experience while visiting our Y. If you are passionate about helping others and being part of a vibrant community, this is the job for you.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of customer service, sales, or related experience (preferred).
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deliver a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
  • Proactive work style with the ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Positive attitude and experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain good public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.
  • Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Greet and assist all members, potential members and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner.
  • Assisting with basic membership transactions.
  • Respond to members' needs. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary and notify supervisor of unusual situations. Handle complaints in a courteous manner.
