Job description

Job Brief: New Mexico Financial and Family Law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Part-time Paralegal to join our team. This will be a hybrid position working roughly 25 hours per week, dependent upon the caseload.
New Mexico Financial and Family Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a leading New Mexico law firm. We specialize in bankruptcy law, family law, probate law, and other legal issues involving financial matters. With more than 25 years of experience in the field, we have a proven track record that speaks volumes about our ability to solve various problems. The cases we handle receive our personal attention, which has satisfied many clients.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests research
• Collects and organizes evidence and other important papers
• Keeps client files organized and up to date in electronic format
• Organize and maintain client files, as well as case files and documents
• Respond to client inquiries
• Assists with trial preparation including preparing exhibits
• Files documents with the Courts
• Arrange meetings and depositions with clients, witnesses, and other attorneys
• Contacts clients to keep them apprised of the case's status
• Attends to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, making, and receiving phone calls, and fielding correspondence
Skills Required:
• 5 Years of paralegal experience or a combination of legal assistant and paralegal experience
• Probate, family law, and/or estate planning experience is highly preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research database
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and practices
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints
• Willing and able to commute to downtown Albuquerque
