Job description

A member of the Operations Changeover Laborer team reports directly to the Operations Manager. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the Arena from one event to another. Additionally, a member of the Operations Changeover Team may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. The Operations Changeover Team is a vital component of the Arena in responding to the needs of promoters and clients—a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential.  

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events. 
  • Setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment. 
  • Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed. 
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met, including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies 
  • Assist with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning as needed.
  • Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, the garage, entrances, and the event plaza. Snow removal of the outside area during winter.   
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment 
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form. 
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment. Training and certification required.   
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.  
  • Work effectively under pressure and a stringent schedule to produce accurate results. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

  • Previous experience with event changeovers is a plus.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment desired. 
  • Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.   
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays as required. 
  • Able to work extensive time in areas with moderate to loud noises. 
  • Frequent bending, lifting heavy objects, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, standing for long periods of time, and extensive walking through the building. 
  • Work boots are required and provided by the employee for all shifts. The arena will supply hard hats that are required at designated times on an event day.
