Job description

Nurse Practitioner Opportunity in Kenai, AK

You'll step into an established outpatient primary care role where you can build long-term relationships and practice with strong wraparound support. This Nurse Practitioner opportunity offers a steady pace, integrated services, and no call-designed for sustainable work-life balance. If you're looking for meaningful work in a close-knit Alaska community, this is worth a closer look.

Practice Overview

  • You'll join a small, collaborative primary care team (IM physician + NP) with strong clinical support
  • Outpatient-only primary care with minor procedures (wound care, joint injections, fracture care)
  • Integrated model with on-site resources (behavioral health, PT/OT, pharmacy support, lactation, wellness services)
  • Efficient operations: Cerner EMR and most labs completed in-house

Schedule

  • Weekday clinic schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p or four 10-hour shifts
  • Light weekend rotation: approximately 1 in 6 Saturdays
  • No call responsibilities
  • Manageable patient volume: about 12-14 patients per day

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary starting at $107,000 (range up to $161,000) plus $10,000 sign-on bonus
  • $10,000 retention bonus and full relocation support (including one vehicle)
  • Housing assistance available (apartment and vehicle support may be provided if needed)
  • Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 7% 401(k) match, generous PTO accrual, and tuition reimbursement

Candidate Requirements

  • NP certification with interest in outpatient primary care across adult and pediatric populations
  • Comfort with common primary care procedures (or willingness to grow into them)
  • Open to new graduates with the right clinical foundation and mentorship mindset
  • Interest in community-based care and working within a culturally rooted, team-based setting

Community & Location Highlights

  • Kenai offers year-round outdoor access; fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and weekend getaways
  • Small-town feel with everyday amenities, plus an easy connection to Anchorage for major-city needs
  • Room to spread out with housing options that often feel more attainable than larger metros
  • Ideal for physicians seeking a slower pace, wide-open landscapes, and a strong sense of community
