Right now we are looking for a  Registered Nurse to join our Mother Baby Unit

Employement Status: Part-time 
Reporting Relationship:
Manager, Mother Baby Unit
Hiring Salary Range: $41.15-$58.98
Location:  Wilson Site
Hours of work:
Must be able to work 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts.  Days, Nights, Evenings and Weekends
Union:  ONA
Position Responsibilities:

  • RN responsibilities, with a focus on assessment and total patient care of antepartum and postpartum women as well as new born infants.
  • Patient and family education and support.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • BCLS/CPR certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
  • Current NRP certificate required or agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into position.
  • Previous experience with antepartum and postpartum women as well as new born infants.
  • Proficiency in initiating IV therapy in infants and adults an asset.
  • Good patient /family teaching skills required.
  • Obstetrical Nursing Certificate an asset.  Breastfeeding Certificate an asset.
  • Recent postpartum and new born care experience preferred.
  • Bereavement/palliative nursing care skills an asset. Ability to facilitate and promote family centered care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team as well as with parents and families from a diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. 
  • Good organizational skills required, with an ability to be flexible and work effectively in a busy environment with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained to one other area within the Women’s & Children’s Health Program.
  • Willingness to rotate to other departments as required.
  • Second language an asset.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
