Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Circulator (ASC)

Location: Towson, MD
Employment Type: PRN | No Nights, Weekends, or Major Holidays

Position Summary

We are seeking a patient-focused and highly organized Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Circulator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). In this role, you will provide safe, efficient, and high-quality care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting and values teamwork, efficiency, and exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary patient advocate throughout the surgical experience
  • Perform preoperative assessments, verify patient identity, consent, and surgical site
  • Coordinate patient flow and ensure on-time case starts in a high-efficiency ASC setting
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists
  • Maintain a sterile and compliant operating room environment
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond to changes in condition
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Oversee equipment, supplies, and room turnover to support efficient case flow
  • Provide postoperative handoff communication to PACU staff
  • Promote a positive patient experience in a same-day surgery environment
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maryland)
  • BLS / ACLS / PALS required
  • Minimum of 1 year of operating room experience (circulating experience required)
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and perioperative standards
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior ASC or outpatient surgery experience
  • CNOR certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced surgical environments
Work Schedule & Environment
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • Day shifts only (10 hour shifts, must provide availability for at least one shift / week)
  • No overnight shifts
  • No call requirements
