Professional Engineer Special Inspector - Part Time
We're seeking experienced and licensed Special Inspectors (P.E.) to join our growing team for immediate openings across the five boroughs. You'll be part of projects that shape the city's skyline and strengthen its infrastructure from complex high-rises to transportation hubs. This role will function in a part time as needed basis and you can accept or decline work based on your schedule.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience performing inspections in NYC (varied in size and complexity)
  • Strong understanding of Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code and related inspection requirements

Certificates, Licenses & Training
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in New York or New Jersey (Civil or Structural)
  • 5+ years of direct construction inspection experience in NYC or NJ
  • Familiarity with NYC and International Building Codes
  • Hands-on experience inspecting Pile Installations and Geotechnical Conditions per Chapter 17 requirements
  • Current safety training in:
    • Fall protection
    • Scaffolding and ladder safety
    • Work-zone safety
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Certification (minimum requirement)

Additional Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - comfortable interfacing with contractors, clients, and agencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate, detailed inspection reports in a timely manner
  • Strong sense of accountability and professionalism
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Willingness to pursue additional technical certifications as part of ongoing professional growth
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic field environments
  • Familiar with construction materials, methods, and safety standards
