Part Time Overnight Cleaner information

What are common challenges faced by part time overnight cleaners, and how can they be managed?

Part time overnight cleaners often encounter challenges such as maintaining alertness during late hours, working independently with minimal supervision, and handling unexpected cleaning emergencies. To manage these, it helps to establish a consistent sleep routine, stay hydrated and take short breaks when possible. Good communication with supervisors and team members ensures that any issues or supply needs are quickly addressed. Additionally, following a checklist and prioritizing tasks can help keep the workload manageable and ensure quality results.

What does a part time overnight cleaner do?

A Part Time Overnight Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in facilities such as offices, schools, or commercial buildings during nighttime hours. Their duties typically include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing surfaces. Working overnight helps avoid disrupting daily operations and allows cleaners to access all areas more easily. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, part-time work, often with less direct supervision and quieter working conditions. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are important for this position.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a part time overnight cleaner?

To thrive as a Part Time Overnight Cleaner, you need attention to detail, reliability, and basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, which may be supported by prior experience but often do not require formal education. Familiarity with cleaning equipment, floor buffers, and safe use of chemicals is typically necessary, and some employers may require certification in handling hazardous materials. Strong time management, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are standout soft skills for this position. These skills and qualities are important to maintain cleanliness standards efficiently and safely during unsupervised overnight shifts.

Part-Time Overnight Dog Care Attendant

The Wags Club

Los Angeles, CA โ€ข On-site

$18.50 - $20/hr

Part-time

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Two Nights a Week.

20 Hours.

Dogs for Coworkers.

Looking for a part-time job that actually fits around the rest of your life?

The Wags Club is an established cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, and we're looking for dependable people to join our overnight team.

Our overnight shifts run from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, which means just two shifts gives you approximately 20 hours of work each week.

If you're in school, have another job, freelance, have daytime commitments, or simply want to earn additional income without giving up five more days of your week, this could be an unusually good fit.

We're looking for a minimum commitment of two overnight shifts per week. Additional nights are frequently available for people who want more hours.

What You'll Do Overnight

When our daytime team goes home, our boarding dogs still need someone looking after them.

You'll:

Supervise dogs throughout the night
Monitor their health, comfort, and behavior
Feed meals and administer medications as directed
Keep play and sleeping areas clean and sanitary
Handle laundry and routine facility cleaning
Make sure dogs are comfortable and settled
Prepare the facility for the morning team
Report anything unusual or concerning to management

Overnight is naturally quieter than our daytime operation, but this is not a sleep shift.

There's always something that needs to be monitored, cleaned, prepared, or completed.

This Could Be a Great Fit If...

You're looking for:

A consistent part-time job
Approximately 20+ hours from just two shifts
Work that doesn't interfere with daytime commitments
Additional shifts when you want more hours
A job where you can work independently
A workplace where dogs are a pretty significant part of the employee population

Previous animal-care experience is welcome, but it isn't required.

We're happy to train someone who's responsible, dependable, comfortable around dogs, and willing to work.

What Matters to Us

We need people who:

Show up reliably and on time
Are comfortable around dogs of all breeds and sizes
Can work independently without constant supervision
Pay attention when something doesn't seem right
Stay productive even when nobody is standing over them
Understand that cleaning is an important part of animal care
Can follow feeding, medication, and care instructions accurately

Pay & Perks

$18.50-$20.00 per hour

Minimum two overnight shifts per week
Additional shifts frequently available
Free daycare for your own dog
Employee discounts
Support from an experienced pet-care team

Interested?

If two 10-hour overnight shifts fit your life better than a traditional part-time schedule, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply through this listing with your resume.
