About the Position
Mixed Weekend/Weekday Infusion RN Role in the infusion clinic at Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion. Serving the oncology and general populations by providing a wide range of infusion services and medication as well as blood product transfusion. Looking for candidates for whom weekend work is preferred and who want to work on a high functioning team. Recommend only candidates who are looking for a team nursing work model and a relational model of care. Some orientation days may need to be completed on weekdays as the weekend clinic is a new initiative this year. Would recommend to candidates who are seeking to contribute to a new service and for whom the weekend requirement work well with their work-life balance needs. Weekend shifts are abbreviated, typically 6 hours from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. so evenings would be free. Weekdays are 10-hour shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position is intended to be every other weekend plus 1 to 2 weekdays each week.

Scope of work
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Required Associate's Degree Nursing
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Required
  • CRT-Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered. Radiation Therapy certificate course is required for RNs working in radiation departments. 1 Year Required
  • CRT-Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation OCN Certification (or other applicable Oncology specialty/leadership certification) preferred. 1 Year Preferred
  • 2 years Oncology experience strongly preferred
