Department: PACU - Outpatient Surgical Services
Reports To: Chris Ellis RN/OR Director and Jodi Miller RN/DON
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Post-Operative Nurse with previous surgical experience to join our team on a part-time basis. We provide a range of outpatient ambulatory surgical procedures at MHC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) procedures and provide high-quality care to patients as they recover from surgery. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible schedule with no weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall health post-surgery.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
  • Provide patient education and emotional support to both patients and their families.
  • Assess patients' condition and respond to changes in vital signs or surgical complications.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated care.
