What is a part time Oracle Accounts Payable specialist?

Part time Oracle Accounts Payable jobs involve managing a company's outgoing payments and financial obligations to vendors using Oracle's accounting software, but on a reduced hour schedule. These professionals are responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments, typically working fewer hours than a full-time employee. They must be familiar with Oracle's Accounts Payable module and handle tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and responding to vendor inquiries. Part time roles offer flexibility for those balancing work with other commitments while still providing valuable support to the finance team.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a part time Oracle Accounts Payable specialist?

To thrive as a Part Time Oracle Accounts Payable Specialist, you need a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with accounts payable processes, and often an associate degree in accounting or finance. Proficiency in Oracle Financials or Oracle ERP systems, along with familiarity with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, is typically required. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, reduce errors, and support smooth financial operations.

How does a part time Oracle Accounts Payable specialist collaborate with other departments to ensure timely invoice processing?

As a Part Time Oracle Accounts Payable specialist, you’ll regularly coordinate with departments such as procurement, receiving, and finance to verify invoice accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Job description

We are seeking a senior Ellucian Banner Finance functional SME to support a higher education client with Banner Finance configuration, processes, troubleshooting, and optimization.
The consultant will work directly with Finance and IT stakeholders to assess current-state processes, identify configuration or process issues, and recommend practical solutions using delivered Banner functionality wherever possible.
Required Experience
  • Deep hands-on functional experience with Ellucian Banner Finance
  • Strong knowledge of Banner Finance configuration and business processes
  • Experience across areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing/Procurement, Budgeting, Chart of Accounts/FOAPAL, and fiscal year-end processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex functional issues and identify root causes
  • Experience reviewing legacy configurations, customisations, and workarounds
  • Ability to translate business requirements into Banner configuration and functional recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with Finance and IT teams
  • Higher education Banner consulting experience strongly preferred

This is a functional SME role, not primarily a Banner development position.
Engagement: Part-time, fully remote, initially approximately six weeks, with potential for follow-on work.
About Us
Higher Digital is built for people who want to do meaningful work in an environment free from corporate bureaucracy.
We're a small, experienced, global team helping higher education institutions solve hard problems and turn strategy into action. That means our people get real responsibility, real visibility, and a real voice in what we do.
We trust people to use good judgment and get things done. We share how the company is performing. We talk openly about what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change. Good ideas matter more than titles, and we expect people to challenge us when they see a better way.
We're remote-first and work across the US, UK, Europe, Canada, and beyond. We value flexibility, but flexibility comes with accountability. Clients and teammates need to be able to count on you.
We also genuinely like working together. Cameras are usually on. Conversations wander into football, soccer, baseball, travel, and whatever international rivalry is happening that week. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
Higher Digital moves quickly. Priorities change. People wear more than one hat. There isn't a giant organization waiting to solve every problem for you. If you need layers of process, narrowly defined responsibilities, and lots of permission, this probably isn't your place. If you like autonomy, smart colleagues, transparency, variety, and the opportunity to make a visible difference (for our clients and for the company) you'll probably feel at home here.
We're building Higher Digital together.
