Optometrist (Part-time) - Sacramento, CA
Job Type: Part-time (Mon - Fri, Flexible/Negotiable)
Setting: FQHC or Community Health Outpatient Clinic

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Optometrist to join a mission-driven outpatient clinic in Sacramento, CA. This is a flexible opportunity ideal for professionals passionate about delivering high-quality eye care to underserved and diverse patient populations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity, focus, coordination, and perception assessments

· Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision disorders

· Perform diagnostic procedures such as refraction, visual field testing, pupil and motility exams, slit lamp exams, ophthalmoscopy, gonioscopy, and tear function testing

· Provide treatment plans and therapeutic interventions to preserve or improve vision

· Educate patients on eye health, contact lens care, and preventive practices

· Maintain accurate documentation using EHR systems

· Support and train clinic staff on vision screening procedures

· Follow infection control protocols and clinic safety standards

Qualifications:

· Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution

· Active and unrestricted California Optometry license

· Glaucoma certification (preferred)

· Current BLS certification

· 1-2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in community health or underserved settings

· Strong knowledge of ocular disease management and diagnostic equipment

· Proficiency with EHR systems

Language Skills (Preferred):

· Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish, Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto)

· Excellent communication skills to serve diverse patient populations
