DESCRIPTION
A Registered Nurse (RN) at Valley Senior Living plays a pivotal role in providing compassionate and skilled care to residents. RNs' responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring the well-being and comfort of the residents. RNs develop personalized care plans, oversee & administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide treatments prescribed by physicians. RNs serve as advocates for residents, addressing their concerns and ensuring their rights are upheld. They offer emotional support to both residents and their families, fostering a comforting and trusting environment.
FUNCTIONS
  • Report changes in the resident's condition to the physician, Care Coordinator, and families on a timely basis.
  • Document condition changes to the resident's medical record and communication changes to the next shift.
  • Document accurately and concisely.
  • Collaborate effectively with all other disciplines in meeting the needs of the residents.
  • Direct the ongoing care of the residents daily during the assigned shift.
  • Supervise and/or delegate appropriately to LPNs, CMAs, CNAs, and Health Unit Coordinators.
  • Implement recommendations and draw conclusions upon assessment of the resident (e.g., lung sounds, bowel sounds, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, etc.)
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and assess the effectiveness of these.
  • Identify and report unacceptable work or personnel behavior and administer corrective discipline as indicated with the collaboration of ADON.
  • Effectively handle and report emergencies, accidents, incidents, and complaints.
  • Accurately receive, interpret, and transcribe physician orders.
  • Complete employee appraisals and audits assigned.
