As the largest community college in Arkansas, NWACC is recognized as a leader in education. NWACC offers a full range of associate degrees, certificates and workforce training programs that prepare students for rewarding futures and careers.

Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer. Postings close yearly and to maintain your application within the system, you will need to re-apply each year. Email is the primary method that NWACC utilizes to communicate with its applicants.

The Business program is seeking qualified part-time instructors to join its adjunct faculty pool. Courses may be delivered in person, online, or in a hybrid format.

Job Description

  • Prepares syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and presentations aligned with established course learning outcomes.
  • Delivers effective instruction using a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and relevant business applications.
  • Establishes and communicates clear course expectations, policies, and classroom management practices.
  • Assesses student learning, provides timely feedback, and maintains accurate attendance and grade records.
  • Uses Canvas and other college systems, including Success Planner, to support instruction and document student participation.
  • Communicates effectively with students and responds to student questions within established timeframes.
  • Meets all deadlines for submitting attendance, grades, and other required reports.
  • Maintains a respectful and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
  • Complies with college policies and applicable academic and professional standards.

Rate of pay: $875 per credit hour

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in the assigned teaching discipline.
  • Ability to explain business concepts clearly and connect course content to practical applications.
  • Demonstrated or potential ability to teach effectively at the college level.
  • Ability to use a learning management system and other instructional technologies.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from varied educational and professional backgrounds.
  • Experience with online instruction, project-based learning, service learning, or inquiry-based learning is preferred.
  • Relevant professional or industry experience is preferred.
  • Community college teaching experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of application. Discipline-specific qualifications may apply based on the assigned course.

Postsecondary teaching experience and relevant professional experience are preferred.
