Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time Spanish High School Diploma (HSD) Instructors within the Adult Education and Literacy Department. Spanish (HSD) Instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time, non-union assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, part-time/adjunct instructors in the Adult Education and Literacy Department are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Master's degree preferred.
2. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
3. Content area expertise in one of the following areas: Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, or Math is required.
4. Teaching experience, preferably in an adult learning content is required.
5. Demonstrate willingness and ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies.
6. Experience in Adult Education preferred.
7. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated experience effectively working with disadvantaged population.
PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of courses taught.

Adult Education and Literacy Department courses are offered at the SWIC Sam Wolf Granite City Campus.
