Job description

Town Pump is looking for motivated and outgoing individuals to join our Express Car Wash team. Town Pump is a growing company, with ever increasing opportunities for career growth.
Summary: Ensure safety of customers and employees and observe all safety rules. Assist all areas of Car Wash as required by supervisor, including cleaning, maintenance, and promotional selling. Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be able to observe and follow all safety procedures and precautions.
  • Must be able to perform various maintenance and cleaning functions on the car wash and related equipment.
  • Must be able to perform various maintenance and repairs including changing of paper in kiosk, adding soap to barrels and maintaining cleanliness in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (Exceptions may apply for high school students working part time and summer employment)
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to communicate, written and orally, effectively with customers and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS: N/A
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to effectively approach customers and promote the car wash at the fueling islands and inform customers of current promotions etc.
  • Must be able to recognize vehicles which will not go through the car wash based on a vehicle assessment and explain to the customer why their vehicle cannot be washed if necessary.

  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lb.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 75lb.
  • Ability to stand for several hours.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc. and cleaning supplies such broom, scrub brush and cleaning products etc.
