A Part Time NICU job involves working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on a reduced-hour schedule. Nurses and healthcare professionals in this role provide specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns. Responsibilities may include monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and supporting families. Part-time schedules vary by hospital and may include night, weekend, or holiday shifts. This role requires neonatal experience and relevant certifications, such as NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

What responsibilities can I expect in a part time NICU position?

Part-time NICU nurses typically provide direct care to premature and critically ill newborns, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting feeding and development plans. You will work closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and communicate updates to families. Shifts may include nights, weekends, or holidays, but part-time schedules can offer flexibility to balance professional and personal commitments. Despite reduced hours, you will play a crucial role in the care team and may be involved in emergency situations as well as routine patient care. This role is ideal for nurses seeking meaningful clinical work in a supportive, collaborative environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed for a part time NICU position?
