Position Summary:

As a Registered Nurse working within Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will take the lead as you will:

  • Be responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in the provision and management of nursing care for patients

  • Ability to assess, monitor and provide care for sick neonates in a 2C level NICU

  • Familiarity with hospital, college, and unit policies, as well as unit procedures

  • Customer and family focused care

  • Commitment to working co-operatively within the Women's and Children's Program

  • Progressive, innovative and problem-solving team player that supports the vision of Trillium and the philosophy of the W&C Program

Qualifications:

  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO

  • NICU Certificate preferred

  • Current or recent experience in NICU

  • Current NRP Certificate

  • Current CPR Certificate

  • Breastfeeding support experience, breastfeeding courses an asset

  • Ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations

  • Highly effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

  • Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team

  • Positive attendance and work record essential
