Job description

MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer who will act as Subject Matter Expert in TCP/IP Internetworking to assist the Product Lead for Strategic Spectrum Warfare under Project Manager Electronic Warfare and Cyber (PM EW&C) with activities related to the configuration, operation, characterization and test of various communications networks to enable interconnectivity of systems that conduct Spectrum Warfare, Electronic Support, Electronic Attack, and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) operations. 


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing team with multiple opportunities for upward advancement supporting EW&C. The EW&C program delivers critical capabilities to counter current and future threats, enabling the next generation of warfighting capabilities from sensor to Soldier worldwide. By applying game changing cyber technologies through agile development methodology, we enable battlefield dominance for our Warfighters.


  • The candidate will work in both a laboratory and field environment configuring and utilizing various network appliances and mission systems, to link devices such as sensors and EW systems with their control stations, operation centers or command posts, and with other live Army and Agency networks.
  • Assist with the investigation of novel methods to implement a communications Primary, Alternative, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) plan that will be used to interconnect various network elements and/or sensors in a tactical environment. Methods to automate the PACE plan, such as Seeker or Bandwidth Virtualization will be investigated and characterized in a lab as well as field environment. 
  • The candidate will provide expert consultation to government staff members such as product managers and chief engineers in the EW&C field on matters related to networking. The candidate will support meetings, technical interchanges, and soldier touchpoints. 
  • The candidate will support field testing as required and directed by the government task lead. Field testing will include both local as well as other remote locations in the US and abroad.
  • The candidate is expected to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned with limited supervision

Requirements: MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
  • Extensive background required related to military and commercial networks.
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switched to include Cat8K.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of TCP-IP internetworking required to include configuration of switches and routers. Should have minimum CCNA and Sec+ certification.
  • Good working knowledge of the Linux operating system required.
  • Experience installing and configuring VMware ESXi hypervisor.
  • Experience configuring Palo Alto Firewall.
  • Knowledge of Ansible using YAML desired for automating provisioning of network devices.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, Cisco ASA. Routing Protocols BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP as well as proficiency in MULTICAST; a background with designing and implementing LANs and VLANs. Subject Matter expert with VOIP, Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, Redcom Sigma Core desired.
  • Experience with network protocol analysis using Sniffer, Wireshark or similar tool.
  • Knowledge of configuring cryptographic equipment such as TACLANEs.
  • Some knowledge of mission systems such as NGC2, Nett Warrior, JBC-P, BFT, AFATDS, etc. desired.
  • Posses excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact with members of the Army acquisition workforce, Test Officers, Task and Functional Leads, and senior engineers.

Preferred:

  • Military experience/prior service
  • Advance degree or additional certifications.
  • TS/SCI desired.

Clearance:

  • Requires minimum Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

 

Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent IT-related field.
