We invite Advanced Practice Providers to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds and visionaries together in our Critical Care team at Atrium Health - Cabarrus.

The Atrium Health Cabarrus Critical Care Team is actively recruiting an experienced, part-time Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The APP will be expected to manage medical, surgical, cardiac, and cardiothoracic surgery ICU patients and attend and contribute to group/practice meetings, development of policies and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

About the position:

  • Part-time position 0.8 fte = 116 shifts per year
  • 100% inpatient, adult medicine
  • Service provides 24/7 coverage with shift-based model to a 54 bed ICU consisting of a mixed patient population of medical, surgical, and cardiovascular adult patients.
  • Shifts are 13 hours long and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are rotated equally among staff.
  • Current group consists of 14 physicians and 13 APPs
  • Employer paid benefits and CME allowance offered

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. License to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
  • Nurse practitioners are required to have a Master's Degree or Post Master's Certificate in Acute Care
  • Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
  • NP/PA or RN experience in ICU required
  • Knowledgeable about the following procedures or willing to learn: Central Line Placement, Arterial Line Placement, and Intubation
