Job description

This position provides exemplary customer service as they help guests make their purchases. Establishes a positive customer service relationship with all guests, internal and external, to help
guarantee customer satisfaction which will contribute to the financial success of the Museum. Ensures that stock levels on the floor are stocked and aesthetically pleasing.

This is a Part-Time, Seasonal position from September 2026 through April 15, 2027.

Job Class: Part-Time, Seasonal
Hiring Range: $20.00/hour
Work Schedule: 20-25 hours 3-4 days per week.This position is support for our 9:00-5:30 shift as well as our shift extension on Fridays when the Museum is open till 9:30. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required.

Essential Duties
  • Greets and answer customers' questions, and provides basic information.
  • Ensures customer transaction is completed timely and accurately.
  • Resolves customer issues as they arise, in a way that is best for the guest.
  • Takes responsibility to learn all aspects of the sales position including opening and closing
    protocols.
  • Stocks and maintains appropriate levels of stock on the floor, and in storage, as set by buyer.
  • Follows the FIFO protocol.
  • Assists in clean-up as appropriate for area.
  • Stocks merchandise throughout the shift and before leaving to ensure a full retail space when open.
  • Keeps merchandise displayed in an orderly manner.
  • Handles money and can count back change. Receives payment by cash, credit cards, or automatic debits. Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Adheres to cash handling policies and compliance standards. Maintains a clean and orderly
    checkout area.
  • Maintains the Retail Operations space to address any required health and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 months experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass any required certification for food, liquor health and safety.
Ideal Candidate will have
  • Basic cash handling or point-of-sale experience

  • A positive, can-do attitude and enthusiasm for creating joyful, memorable guest experiences
