Job description

Classification Title:

Adjunct - Computer Technology Instructor (Pool)

Department:

Computer Technology

Physical Demands:ย 

Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.

Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.

Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Dean of Business, Technology, and Online Programs
  • Teaches Computer Technology classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires one of the following:
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Technology (CT), Computer Information System (CIS), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Technology (CT), Computer Information System (CIS), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
    • Masterโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems, with additional certifications or 3 years non-teaching related work experience aligned with the courseโ€™s focus (e.g., networking, multimedia, programming, hardware maintenance)
  • Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance oneโ€™s value to the institution
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
