Night Auditor - Part-Time

Looking for a part-time overnight role that combines guest service, problem-solving, and attention to detail?

The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a dependable, service-focused Night Auditor to support our overnight Front Office operations. This role is ideal for someone who works well independently, enjoys helping guests, and takes pride in ensuring the hotel's daily financial activity is accurate and ready for the next business day.

As the overnight point person for the hotel, you will welcome late-arriving guests, respond to questions and concerns, complete the nightly audit, and help keep hotel operations running smoothly while most of the property sleeps.

Schedule & Pay

         Part-time: approximately 20 hours per week

         Overnight shift: approximately 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

         Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

         Starting pay: $15.00 - $17.00/hr. commensurate with experience

What You'll Do

As a Night Auditor, you will balance overnight accounting responsibilities with front desk guest service. You will ensure the day closes accurately while creating a safe, welcoming, and helpful experience for every guest you encounter.

Responsibilities include:

         Warmly greet late-arriving guests and complete accurate check-in and check-out procedures

         Answer phones, respond to guest questions, and assist with requests or concerns in a professional and caring manner

         Resolve guest issues whenever possible and communicate important follow-up needs to the appropriate department or manager

         Prepare daily food and beverage revenue data by auditing point-of-sale revenue, covers, fees, tips, paid-outs, and settlements

         Run and review audit reports from the property management system, credit card system, and point-of-sale system

         Identify discrepancies, make appropriate corrections or adjustments, and document unusual activity

         Enter revenue, expense, and allowance information to generate daily operating reports

         Balance revenue and settlement accounts nightly and maintain complete, organized audit files

         Complete the end-of-day process and reset hotel systems for the next business day

         Monitor the lobby and front desk area and follow established safety and security procedures

         Communicate overnight activity, guest concerns, and operational issues clearly to the morning team

         Support other Front Office duties and assist with additional responsibilities as assigned

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is trustworthy, self-directed, and comfortable balancing hospitality with detailed financial work.

         Strong guest service and communication skills with a friendly, professional approach

         Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused when handling guest concerns

         Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through

         Basic accounting and mathematical skills, including the ability to balance transactions and identify discrepancies

         Computer proficiency, including comfort with spreadsheets and the ability to learn hotel reporting systems

         Professional telephone etiquette and clear written communication skills

         Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours

         Reliable attendance and availability to work the overnight shift, including weekends and holidays as scheduled

         High school diploma or equivalent

Previous hotel front desk, night audit, accounting, cash-handling, or customer service experience is preferred. Prior hospitality supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
