What is a part time mortuary assistant?

Part time mortuary assistants are professionals who support the work of funeral directors and morticians by preparing deceased individuals for funerals, assisting with embalming, maintaining the mortuary, and helping with administrative tasks. They typically work limited hours, such as evenings or weekends, depending on the needs of the mortuary. Their duties can include cleaning and dressing bodies, setting up viewing rooms, and providing respectful care to both the deceased and grieving families. This role requires sensitivity, attention to detail, and the ability to handle challenging emotional situations.
