Job description

The Gate Attendant supports event operations at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex by managing guest entry points, selling tickets, directing guests, and providing a positive and welcoming first impression during Spring Training, tournaments, and special events.
Responsibilities
  • Sell tickets at designated entry gates in accordance with established procedures
  • Direct guests to appropriate parking areas, fields, and facilities
  • Accurately prepare, balance, and reconcile assigned gate banks at the start and end of each shift
  • Verify ticket envelopes to ensure correct ticket counts prior to distribution
  • Answer guest questions, resolve basic issues, and provide high-quality guest service
  • Communicate effectively with VIPs and special guests as directed by Operations leadership
  • Maintain awareness of event operations and escalate issues or concerns to the Senior Coordinator, Facilities & Event Operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations leadership

Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous cash-handling experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time

The Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) located in Vero Beach, Florida, serves as a year-round hub for amateur development initiatives and events designed to diversify and strengthen the talent pipelines of baseball and softball. We are the permanent home to several signature youth-focused events and programs, such as the Nike RBI World Series and the Hank Aaron Invitational, which teach players how to succeed on and off the field. The historic facility, formerly known as Dodgertown, was renamed Jackie Robinson Training Complex in honor of its trailblazing namesake.
