Job description

Brown Distributing Company is a leading beverage distributor throughout the state of Virginia. Since 1919, Brown Distributing has grown into a beverage distribution business with combined sales of over 3 million cases annually and serving in excess of 3,000 retailers with nearly 200 employees. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Merchandiser to work on the weekends only and support our Grocery Team in Richmond, VA! Training is also provided for every new employee that we bring on board.
Schedule:
Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday
Potential for Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday scheduling
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $25/hour
Responsibilities: Merchandisers will be assigned to a defined geographic area to provide services to our clients. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers.
  • Replenishing inventory levels by moving backroom or display stock into the cold section.
  • Filling and maintaining displays, and assisting in display building when needed.
  • Installing point of sale signage.
  • Assisting sales department with sales promotion activities.
  • Rotating products so that newest product is in the back and oldest product is in the front to avoid products becoming out of code.
  • Turning product labels so that all labels are facing the consumer's eye.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Your own transportation to drive from grocery store to grocery store.
  • A valid Virginia driver's license with no negative points and no DUI convictions.
  • Ability to maintain a great relationship with our customers', and be able to communicate effectively and comfortably.
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs. or more repetitively (Since stocking will be your main responsibility).
  • A flexible schedule: Start time is no later than 6 a.m.
