Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant position available. Position is part-time with a flexible schedule, grant funded with a competitive compensation package. Possibility of continuation based on IECMH Program achieving grant outcomes.
IECMH Consultant provides virtual and onsite coaching, mentoring, modeling and training for adults related to developmentally appropriate interventions and strategies that enhance the emotional well-being of children. IECMH Consultants work collaboratively with the schools, child care center staff, families and community partners to increase capacity so all children can achieve school success.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include: Master degree and/or licensure in mental health or related field: Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education or any related services field. Valid Ohio Professional License and/or Certification, Ohio IECMH Professional credential, LISW or LPCC preferred. Two years experience in the field: providing direct or indirect services for young children; classroom consultation; in-home consultation; offering support, mentoring and/or training to adults caring for or working with young children (birth- 2nd grade). Knowledge in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices, knowledge of concepts of early child development and mental health disorders. Must be able to integrate mental health services and philosophies in group settings. Must be able to work on cross disciplinary teams. Requires excellent skills in communication, observation, interviewing and assessment. Ability to work with adults and children and knowledge of learning styles. Knowledge of county mental health systems. Knowledge of and adherence to ethical standards of profession. Demonstrate a sincere desire to aid all students, staff, and the community, and display compassion, kindness and tolerance. Good health, high moral character, and acceptable attendance record. Computer Literacy; demonstrate competence in using computer-related programs including database programs. Current in primary field of practice through continuing education. Valid driver's license, and be able to pass BCI and FBI verifications required.
CONTRACT: Part-Time, School Year (up to 183 days)
SALARY: In accordance with the salary schedule commensurate with training and experience
