Job description

Medical Technologist Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director and Director of Laboratory Services, the Medical Technologist performs clinical testing in various areas such as blood bank, microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, or urinalysis. Responsibilities include obtaining and processing specimens, conducting quality control procedures, interpreting results, and organizing work effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Collects blood specimens using appropriate techniques and maintains specimen integrity
  • Prepares and evaluates samples for analysis, following laboratory policies
  • Reports test results accurately and promptly
  • Recognizes and addresses errors in test results

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:
