Job Description
Assist the (Sr). Director of Finance and the full Finance leadership in maintaining the key processes and systems
within the department e.g. the General Ledger inclusive of subledgers (AP, AR, Inventory and Procurement),
the full cycle Payroll Process; Revenue/Fare reporting. Also provides support by preparing schedules and monthly
analysis, journal entries and selected/assigned Trial Balance account reconciliations. Supports the portfolio
of fare and financial systems (all tasks and the reporting associated there with).

  1. AssisttheDepartmentbyperformingpayrollfunctionsandaccrualbalancetrackingconsistent with all applicable agency rules and requirements as found in the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), Memos of Understanding (MOUs) and Employee Handbooks as applicable as directed by the Finance Manager or designee.
  2. Support the Department by executing within designated scope of the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes including data analysis and report generation.
  3. Assistsinthe end-to-end Revenue recognition and reporting inclusive of the full functionality of the daily Fare revenue process and fare media sales.
  4. Performingotheraccountingoradministrativefunctionsasassigned consistent with the General Functions of the position inclusive of supporting department leadership in maintaining, continuously improving and training others respecting department SOPs (standard operating procedures), DTPs (desktop procedures) and policies.
  5. AssiststheFinanceDepartment leads withrespondingtorequestsforad-hoc,weekly,monthly,and year-end reporting as needed.
  6. Attends and actively participates in training,seminarsorotheropportunitiesforprofessionaldevelopmentasmadeavailable by the Agency. Provide training for Agency personnel as required
  7. Workscooperativelywithalllevelsof personnel with ability to move seamlessly from up-tempo cross functional team collaborations to independent project completion.
  8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  1. Minimum possession of an associate degree with major coursework in accounting. Major coursework in Finance or Information Technology will also be considered. A minimal requirement of 12 credit hours in accounting is requisite in all cases. In addition to education, candidate will have One (1) year of recent highly relevant (respecting the above described general function) work experience.
  2. An ability to coordinate, prioritize and efficiently deliver on multiple projects consistent with the breadth of scope outlined in the general function area.
  3. Emerging (foundational) understandingof GAAP and/or GASB
  4. Excellentmath,analytical,customerservice,andsurpassing written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  5. Ability to learn procedures, policies and complex business rules and "pay logic" along with the accompanying software.
  6. Excel skills - continuously working towards mastery. Experience with reporting out findings using tools such as Power Query, Power BI and Tableau.
  7. The employee must be able to undergo a satisfactory security and credit check review throughout employmentnecessaryforbondingofemployeesand/orconsistentwithstandardsforemployeeswho handle cash and/or confidential information.
  8. Must be able to handle confidentialinformation with discretion, sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact with employeesatalllevelsthroughoutCTtransit,andexternalstakeholdersasdirectedbytheDepartment Lead.
  9. Avaliddrivers'licenseisrequired.Individualmayberequiredtotravelinthecourseoftheirdaily work.

  1. Ability to perform rapid hand, eye coordination and dexterity movements with hands; ability to sit, stand intermittently and for long periods of time.
