What is a part time medical spa employee?

A part-time medical spa employee works in a medical spa setting, typically providing cosmetic or wellness treatments, but on a part-time schedule rather than full-time hours. These employees may include aestheticians, nurses, or administrative staff who assist with services like facials, injectables, laser treatments, or client consultations. Working part-time allows for flexible hours, making it suitable for students, parents, or those seeking supplemental income. Responsibilities and required qualifications vary depending on the specific role within the medical spa.

What are some common responsibilities and expectations for a part time medical spa employee?

Part-time employees at a medical spa typically assist with client consultations, schedule management, and supporting licensed practitioners during treatments such as facials, laser procedures, or injectables. You may also be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, handling administrative tasks like phone calls and appointment bookings, and staying knowledgeable about skincare products and services. Working in a team-oriented environment is common, and you’ll frequently collaborate with estheticians, nurses, and front desk staff to ensure a smooth client experience. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential, as schedules may vary based on client demand.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time medical spa professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Medical Spa Professional, you need relevant licensure (such as esthetician, nurse, or cosmetologist), knowledge of skincare treatments, and experience in a clinical or spa setting. Familiarity with specialized equipment like lasers, IPL devices, and booking or EMR systems is typically required, along with certifications in procedures such as injectables or laser therapy. Exceptional customer service, professionalism, and strong interpersonal communication skills make someone stand out in this role. These skills ensure client safety, satisfaction, and the efficient operation of the medical spa environment.

Location:

Schedule:
Part-Time to start, scaling to Full-Time as the practice ramps
Compensation:
$22-$24/hr base + 4% production bonus + $20 per membership bonus
Employment:
Part-Time to Full-Time | W2 | On-Site

Be the founding esthetician at a brand-new VIO Med Spa in Queen Creek’s premium Switchyard district. You deliver elevated, results-driven skin treatments and build a loyal guest following from opening day, with a strong hourly base and real production upside in a physician-led, protocol-driven environment.

About the Opportunity

VIO Med Spa is a Nashville-based, nationally recognized franchise, proudly named Entrepreneur Magazine’s #1 Med Spa Franchise for three consecutive years. This location marks the first of several planned Arizona locations and offers the opportunity to join a growing organization from the very beginning.

Located in The Switchyard, Queen Creek’s premier walkable dining and retail destination, you’ll be part of one of metro Phoenix’s fastest-growing communities. You’ll have the support of an engaged ownership team, with the owner on-site throughout the week, along with corporate marketing, patient acquisition, and operational support to help you build a thriving book of guests.

The center operates under physician-led standards, with a contracted Medical Director and established medical protocols. You deliver skin treatments within your Arizona esthetician scope of practice, in a clean, documented, results-driven environment, and escalate anything beyond that scope to the appropriate licensed provider.

This is a unique opportunity to help build a treatment practice from day one, establish long-term guest relationships, and grow your career with a nationally recognized brand committed to clinical excellence, advanced training, and exceptional guest outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver customized facials and advanced skin treatments, non-invasive chemical peels and exfoliation, and HydraFacial services, within your training and Arizona esthetician scope of practice.
  • Conduct detailed skin consultations and assessments, and build personalized treatment and homecare plans that educate guests on skin health, treatment cadence, and realistic outcomes.
  • Build loyal guest relationships and drive retention: rebook guests and recommend memberships and homecare products in a consultative, guest-first way.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and the highest standards of sanitation and safety per Arizona State Board of Cosmetology rules and OSHA; perform only services within your licensure, training, and competency, and escalate out-of-scope requests to the appropriate licensed provider.
  • Support the new opening from pre-launch through stabilization: mock days, soft opening, founding membership events, and community outreach, and help set treatment standards and the guest experience from day one.

Requirements

What We Need

  • Active Arizona esthetician license in good standing.
  • 2+ years of hands-on, post-licensure experience on paying clients in a medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, or advanced-aesthetics setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of skin physiology and conditions, excellent facial massage and extraction technique, and consistent sanitation discipline.
  • Day-one confidence performing independently: customized facials, advanced skin treatments, non-invasive chemical peels and exfoliation, and HydraFacial.
  • Comfort with a performance-based compensation component tied to service and retail revenue.

Familiarity with medical-grade skincare lines such as ZO Skin Health, Alastin, and Skinbetter Science, HydraFacial experience or certification, and confidence discussing memberships, treatment plans, and homecare in a consultative, guest-first way are all strong advantages, along with interest in cross-training or growth as the center scales.

Benefits

Schedule + Compensation

$22-$24/hr base depending on experience, plus a 4% production bonus on services, retail, and program revenue, and a $20 bonus for each membership you sell. The schedule starts part-time and scales toward full-time as the guest base grows, so your hours expand with the book you build.

You will work in a physician-led, protocol-driven environment with a consistent schedule, real clinical standards, and a clear path to expand your scope through training as the center grows.

This is a brand-new opening, with the spa scheduled to open in December 2026 and team training shortly before. If you are planning your next move and want to grow with a practice from day one, the timing lets you plan ahead.
