What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Medical Spa RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Medical Spa RN, you need a current RN license, strong clinical assessment skills, and experience with cosmetic or aesthetic procedures. Familiarity with laser devices, injectables such as Botox or fillers, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to educate and reassure clients are crucial soft skills in this setting. These competencies ensure safe, effective treatments and foster client satisfaction and trust in a results-driven, client-focused environment.

The main difference between a Part Time Medical Spa Rn and a Medical Spa Esthetician lies in their credentials and scope of practice. What is a Part Time Medical Spa RN?

A Part Time Medical Spa RN is a registered nurse who works at a medical spa on a part-time basis, providing aesthetic and cosmetic treatments under the supervision of a physician. Their responsibilities often include administering injectables like Botox and dermal fillers, performing laser treatments, and providing pre- and post-procedure care to clients. They ensure patient safety, educate clients about procedures, and maintain clinical standards. This role requires a valid nursing license and may require additional certification in medical aesthetics depending on state regulations.

What are some common challenges faced by a part-time Medical Spa RN, and how can they be managed?

Part-time Medical Spa RNs often face challenges such as adapting to variable schedules, staying up-to-date with new aesthetic treatments, and maintaining strong communication with both clients and the broader spa team. Since the role involves working with a mix of medical and cosmetic procedures, it is important to remain current with best practices and product knowledge. Building rapport with repeat clients and collaborating effectively with aestheticians and physicians can help ensure high-quality care and a positive work environment. Proactive time management and ongoing education are key to thriving in this dynamic setting.

Job description

The Opportunity

MKE Aesthetics & Wellness is a physician-led medical spa and hormone wellness practice headquartered in Wauwatosa, WI. Our Kenosha-area clinic โ€” located inside the RecPlex, a premier fitness and recreation facility โ€” serves as a satellite location open to the public, and we're looking for the right provider to help us take it to the next level.

This is not a typical clinical role. We're looking for a provider who is ready to step into an established patient base and actively grow it โ€” someone who sees the intersection of wellness, weight loss, aesthetics, and hormone health as an exciting frontier, not just a job description. You'll have physician medical director support and the backing of a multi-location practice, with the day-to-day autonomy of running your own clinic.

About the Kenosha Clinic

Embedded within the RecPlex, our Kenosha location is a focused, two-room clinic built for high-touch, results-driven patient care. We're surrounded by a community already invested in their health, and we're expanding our reach to meet them where they are.

Ourย current service mix reflects strong demand across weight loss, aesthetics, and hormone wellness โ€” and we see significant space to grow in IV therapy, peptide wellness, recovery support, lipotropic injections, and emerging wellness offerings. The right provider will help us build that vision.

Core services include:

  • GLP-1 / medical weight loss programs
  • Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and optimization
  • IV therapy and lipotropic injections
  • Blood draws and phlebotomy

Growth opportunity services (preferred experience, training available):

  • Medical aesthetics โ€” neurotoxin (Botox/Dysport), dermal fillers, biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse)
  • Peptide therapy and advanced wellness protocols

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Active NP or PA license in the state of Wisconsin (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Experience with GLP-1 protocols and medical weight management
  • Background in hormone optimization, HRT, or functional/integrative wellness
  • Comfortable performing blood draws and IV placements
  • Experience with hormone pellet therapy, or genuine willingness to be trained
  • Strong patient rapport and communication skills โ€” this role is deeply relationship-driven
  • Ability to work independently with medical director oversight

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with neurotoxin injections (Botox/Dysport) and dermal fillers
  • Experience with biostimulators such as Sculptra or Radiesse
  • PRP experience
  • Aesthetics certification or formal aesthetics training

Who Thrives Here

  • A provider with an entrepreneurial spirit โ€” you treat this clinic like it's yours, because in many ways it is
  • A self-starter who is comfortable owning their schedule, their patient relationships, and their outcomes
  • Someone who understands that retail and product recommendations are part of patient care โ€” and embraces that naturally
  • A clinician who values continuity and truly gets to know their patients over time
  • A person who leads with warmth, education, and genuine investment in long-term results
  • Someone excited by a growth-stage environment โ€” new services, evolving protocols, and a practice that moves fast

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with growth potential tied to clinic performance
  • Flexible scheduling โ€” part-time to full-time options available
  • An established and loyal patient panel ready for continuity of care
  • Physician medical director support, collaboration, and oversight
  • Training and continuing education, including advanced procedures
  • The autonomy of clinic ownership without the financial risk of building from scratch
  • A supportive, forward-thinking team culture across our Wauwatosa and Kenosha locations
