Job description

Part-Time Orthotics & Medical Equipment Coordinator:
This position will help manage the nonclinical aspects of getting patients their custom foot orthotics, braces/AFOs, diabetic shoes, and other medical equipment. It is a great position for someone highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, proficient in navigating computer technology/EMR systems, and good at managing many moving pieces at once.

You'll help with:
Ordering and tracking orthotics, braces, shoes, and medical equipment as well as related surgical DME requirements.
Managing prior authorizations for custom equipment, imaging studies (MRI/CT), and surgical procedures.
Communicating with vendors and patients regarding insurance benefits, expected out-of-pocket costs, and financial consent.
Scheduling patients for appointments when products arrive, plus coordinating pre-op and postoperative visits.
Keeping paperwork and orders moving from start to finish while maintaining complete authorization records in the EMR.
Obtaining required clearances and external medical documentation for clinical staff review.
Utilizing standardized checklists to monitor denial trends, reduce errors, and ensure nothing gets forgotten or lost in the shuffle.

Medical office or insurance experience is helpful, but it is not required. We can teach the medical and insurance side of the position. What we really need is someone who is organized, learns quickly, follows through, and takes ownership of their work.

Experience in retail management, inventory, order fulfillment, pharmacy, dental or medical offices, insurance, scheduling, purchasing, or similar work could translate very well to this position.
