Job description

Gracious Home Adult Day Health Care Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Billing & Claims Specialist to join our team.
This position will be responsible for managing medical billing and claims processes, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and helping ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. Experience with Medicaid/MassHealth or other healthcare insurance billing is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, pending, or denied claims
- Review and process EOBs/ERAs and identify reasons for claim denials
- Correct and resubmit claims when necessary
- Perform Accounts Receivable (A/R) follow-up and communicate with insurance companies
- Verify member insurance eligibility and coverage when needed
- Maintain accurate billing and claim records
- Work closely with the management team to resolve billing-related issues
- Provide regular updates regarding outstanding claims and reimbursement status
- Assist with other billing and revenue cycle management duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical billing and healthcare claims processing
- Experience with Medicaid, MassHealth, or managed care plans is strongly preferred
- Experience with claim denials, appeals, payment posting, and A/R follow-up
- Familiarity with EOBs, ERAs, and healthcare billing terminology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Adult Day Health Care (ADH) billing is a plus, but not required
