Why this role is exciting

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join our Vay team in Las Vegas (NV) to support the readiness and uptime of our Remotely-Operated Vehicles (ROV) and telestations (TS) fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and repairs of hardware infrastructure. He or She will be in charge of resolving technical issues efficiently, will contribute towards the operations and up-keeping of our workshop through documentation and processes and coordinating with internal operational and engineering teams, as well as external repair facilities.

What you'll be driving
  • Ordinary and Extraordinary Maintenance: Configure, set up, repair, maintain, diagnose, and sign off vehicles and tele-stations for safe on-the-road usage, ensure availability for operational requirements, hardware technical support, update fleet to new hardware contents, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, implement effective solutions, in direct collaboration with engineering and integration teams.
  • Issue Resolution: Respond promptly to breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and vehicle performance
  • Coordinate external repairs with body shops and workshops, ensuring timely and quality of service
  • Workshop Up-Keeping:ย Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order and properly stored. Support warehouse team with inventory of spare parts and consumables, coordinating with operational buyersย  to order supplies as needed
  • Keep vehicle status and documents up to date at all times
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations,ย safety and quality standards, and company policies.
What are we looking for
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as vehicle technician
  • Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Reliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethos: Available to working on holidays and overtime
  • Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems: high-level experience working with HV systems and hybrid drivetrains, CAN/LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension.
  • Ability to operate comfortably within and troubleshoot Linux based systems.
  • Diagnostic experience with embedded modules, self-driving systems and sensor stacks
  • Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
  • ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification are a plus
