Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Take beverage and food orders from restaurant guests and input orders into POS system.
Deliver orders following required standards for the position.
Prepare tableside items (if applicable) and anticipate guest's needs.
Complete all side work including but not limited to wiping down stations, re-stocking supplies, polish silverware, buff glasses, set-up service cart, etc. to prepare tables and stations. Breakdown stations, carts and tables close of restaurants.
Explain menu to the guests and answer any questions they may have.
Memorize the menu and specials to recommend dishes and beverage pairings.
Always check on quality of food and service to ensure excellent guest service.
Provide timely table maintenance to ensure inviting dining experience for guests.
Assist the busser/runner with any required tasks, including table setup, pre-bussing, delivering food, etc.
Assist the management and host team to set up and rearrange the dining area to accommodate larger groups and assist with special events taking place at the restaurant.
Adhere to company established SOPs in regard to paperwork, cash, and auditing.
Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of and ability to identify menu products.
Superior knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in regard to alcohol service.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Ability to operate a glassware washing machine and to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines.
Knowledge of the dish room, including separating silverware, dishes & glassware appropriately
Candidate must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form.
Ability of simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills is required.
Must have the following skills: compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Alcohol Awareness Card.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous restaurant server experience is required or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, walking, and frequently reaching overhead, bending over, kneeling, and balancing during the duration of their shift.
Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry 50lbs or less frequently.
The team members will constantly have repetitive use of both hands and occasional light and firm/strong grasping motions.
Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work performed indoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment and other mechanical devices.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Team Member may be exposed to slippery surfaces, fumes/odor and secondhand smoke.
