Job description

Instructor of Math and Science: Description and Responsibilities

The Instructor of Math and Science is responsible for the instruction of foundational skills, understanding, and theory in math and science classes in multiple grade levels. The Instructor will:

  • Work with the other faculty of Maths and Sciences in establishing an appropriate sequence of skill acquisition.
  • Teach students proper methods of approaching mathematical and scientific disciplines and ideas appropriate to the subject/grade level.
  • Model and encourage an understanding of their subjects and enthusiasm for the pursuit of these disciplines.
  • Establish and maintain a syllabus for the class that clearly outlines for parents the goals, learning outcomes, and work you expect the students to accomplish in the year.
  • Maintain grade books for all students, updating grades and comments (when applicable) every two weeks or more.

Qualifications: Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field required. Teaching experience in a classical, Charlotte Mason, or Waldorf school preferred. Extensive personal and/or professional experience in working with children. Excellent rapport with students of all ages. Strong understanding of the ethos and values of The Saint Constantine School philosophy of education and play.

Reports To: Academic Dean

Salary Classification: Full-time, exempt, twelve months
