Job description

Are you looking to join a team with flexibility, opportunities for growth, a great benefit package, and fantastic teamwork? We're looking for Part-Time Banquet Event Servers with flexible availability. Pay starts at $17/hr.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve food and beverages using established Hotel standards.
  • Set up for events including; but not limited to, place settings, dรฉcor, buffet lines, table linens, tables, and chairs.
  • Complete all IHG and Hotel training.
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; check identification of guests appearing to be under 40 years of age.
  • Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
  • Clean and maintain workspace including back hall, carts, storage closets, event space.
  • Engage with guests and colleagues using D.A.R.E. to Connect behaviors.
  • Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Restaurant Manager or the Person In Charge (PIC).
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned.

Physical demands:
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10 ยบ F) and kitchens (+110 ยบ F), possibly for one hour or more.
  • Must be able to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis; maneuver carts or equipment weighing up to 250 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
  • Must be able to maneuver between tables and in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to position self to fulfill cleaning tasks.

Requirements
A high school or equivalent education is preferred. Minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred. Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel's facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.
