Description
JOB SUMMARY
Tutors are responsible for assisting students in KCC subject areas such as accounting, business, math, science, writing, speech, and social sciences via individual or group tutoring sessions.
This is a non-benefitted part-time position of up to 20 - 28 hours per week not to exceed 128 hours per pay period and requires some early evening hours and possibly Saturdays.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help students with content previously covered in the classroom
  • Aid students with problem solving strategies
  • Provide support with use of principles, formulas and formats depending on the subject area
  • Identify and record common problem areas for the purpose of developing support services and reference materials
  • Serve students using multiple modalities (face-to-face, email, Zoom, phone call, and text)
  • Adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations
  • Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment and participate in the overall academic and personal growth and development of participants
  • Meet regularly with supervisor and subject area faculty
  • Follow and enforce all KCC policies and procedures
  • Keep accurate tutoring statistics
  • Participate in continuing education training
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete tutor training as applicable
  • If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Grade B or higher in tutor subject areas
  • Overall GPA of at least 2.75 required - official transcripts required
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Tutoring/Instructional experience preferred
