Job description

We are seeking candidates for immediate hire for an internship position in our research and development group.

Verde Bioresins, Inc is an innovative material science company with the mission of creating sustainable solutions to reduce plastic waste in our natural environment. Verde partners with brand and manufacturing customers to design, engineer and manufacture sustainable biopolymer technology for a wide variety of consumer goods. In the R&D internship position, you are critical to our Research and Development department enterprise. A new team member should enjoy working in a smaller, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Laboratory sample and material handling

Support of R&D experiments and development efforts

Operation, monitoring, maintenance and minor troubleshooting of laboratory equipment

Support with laboratory documentation (e.g., TDS, SDS, CoA, CoC)

Maintenance of a clean and safe laboratory environment

Collaboration with Verde R&D scientists, engineers and technicians

Required Qualifications:

Completed college coursework in chemistry, engineering or related technical discipline

Ability to understand scientific documentation and technical procedures

Knowledge of basic scientific and engineering principles including laboratory safety

Effective written and oral communication skills with attention to detail

Organizational skills with ability to prioritize job duties and remain proactive with a dynamic workload

Desired Qualifications:

Some experience in hands-on laboratory-based science, technology, or engineering discipline, ideally focused in materials science, organic and/or polymer chemistry

Knowledge and application of laboratory safety best practices, including SDS cataloging, material storage, material disposal, inventory, and maintenance of related equipment

Knowledge of modern thermoplastic and thermoset resins, plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, film extrusion/lamination, and rapid prototyping

Basic knowledge of polymer chemistry and polyolefin plastic materials

Experience operating extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding equipment
