Part time material handlers are workers responsible for moving, organizing, and managing materials within warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing facilities, but on a part-time schedule. Their duties typically include loading and unloading shipments, tracking inventory, and ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently. This role often requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and basic organizational skills. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and pallet jacks or forklifts is typically required, with OSHA forklift certification often preferred. Attention to detail, time management, and teamwork are important soft skills for excelling in this role. These abilities ensure efficient and accurate handling of materials, which is critical for maintaining safety and productivity in warehouse operations.
