Comprising more than 130 personnel, the Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) delivers expertise across program and project management, acquisition and contracting, systems and digital engineering, software development, test and evaluation, sustainment and lifeโ€‘cycle management, cybersecurity, international/Foreign Military Sales, strategic communications, and IT services. These capabilities support more than 100 Above Water Sensor, Undersea, and Combat System programs and projects within the Navy's Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Mission Systems, Maritime and Munitions, as well as clients at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, and the Office of Naval Research.#FC #Dice
Responsibilities
We are seeking for a part-time radar systems engineer to support a fast-paced radar program within the Navy's Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Mission Systems.
Candidate will support a variety of tasks including: support and completion of major technical reviews; producing required acquisition documentation; meeting critical program milestone deadlines; managing program needs and external requirements, and ensuring the right resources are provided to the right priorities at the right time.
Day to Day role:
You can expect to work on a variety of radar development and integration documents and tasks.
  • Lead and act on behalf of the program's Working Group Leads ensuring the appropriate Systems Engineering processes and discipline is applied across the program.
  • Support technical interchanges and working groups by providing technical expertise in the areas of radar and/or combat systems integration.
  • Conduct technical studies and develop systems engineering documentation as directed by program leadership.

A hybrid work environment is acceptable, however candidate must have the ability to work primarily from NSWC Dahlgren.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • 12+ years of experience in DoD systems engineering
  • Proven experience with Navy's surface radar, and/or combat systems design and certification processes
  • DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:
  • 15+ year of relevant work experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering, including experience as a radar Chief Engineer or Technical Warrant holder
  • Master of Science degree or higher in a technical field
