Part Time - Seasonal

The Bartender position is responsible for preparing and serving a selection of wine, spirits, and cocktails that appeals directly to the guests’ taste.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Offer customers at the bar a distinguished and pleasant service.
  • Offer menu items.
  • Monitor guests at the bar and complete guest requests to ascertain satisfaction and ensure exceptional service.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers to maintain inventory, make beverages, offer food and beverage pairings.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond in a proactive manner.
  • Serve a variety of beverages and have excellent knowledge of the beverage menu.
  • Perform all opening and closing tasks at the bar.
  • Set-up tables as per required standards.
  • Present beverage and food menus and offer clients suggestions.
  • Remove and stock all tableware, silverware, glassware, beverages and food.
  • Bring plates to clients, clean up and reset tables.
  • Tidy up and clean bar area during service hours.
  • Ensure all details of service are delivered to perfection and that each client is given the best quality service.
  • Ensure bar is always properly stocked.
  • Welcome guests with a warm, courteous demeanor by making eye contact with a smile and proper presentation.
  • Immediately report all incidents or atypical situations to the supervisor.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and take ownership of any problem that may arise, advise supervisors afterwards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of bartending experience in a luxury restaurant/hotel environment. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Develop complete knowledge of all products offered by the bars such as wines, cocktails, beers, Armagnacs, cognacs, spirits and all other beverages.
  • An affinity for guest service.
  • Excellent bartending and cocktail knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern and classic cocktails.
  • Have detailed knowledge of all menu items whether it be food or beverages.
  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts: days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to use the computer system for product billing, printing invoices and to close payments in the correct payment system.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to serve at all points of sale in the Food and Beverage division.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • TIPS Certification
  • Must be able to go up and down staircase as well as stoop and bend.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Move about facility and stand for long periods of time.
