Schedule: 1-4 days per week, based on program needs
Program Duration: 4-12 weeks, depending on the enrichment program

Do you have a passion for languages, education, and working with children?

APEC Afterschool Enrichment is seeking an engaging and experienced Foreign Language Enrichment Instructor to introduce elementary-aged students to the excitement of learning a new language and exploring different cultures.

The ideal instructor will create fun, interactive, and age-appropriate lessons that help students develop foundational language skills while building cultural awareness, curiosity, and confidence.

Languages of Interest

We are interested in instructors who can provide instruction in languages including, but not limited to:

  • Spanish
  • French
  • Mandarin Chinese
  • American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Arabic
  • Japanese
  • Other foreign or world languages

Fluency or strong proficiency in the language being taught is required. Experience teaching the language to children is strongly preferred.

Requirements


  • Demonstrate fluency or strong proficiency in the language they will teach.
  • Have experience working with elementary-aged children.
  • Have experience teaching, tutoring, facilitating, or instructing children preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and engage groups of students.
  • Be able to develop age-appropriate and interactive language-learning experiences.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Provide a curriculum and lesson/activity plans for approval prior to beginning services.
  • Provide instructional materials and equipment necessary to facilitate lessons.
  • Successfully complete all required APEC onboarding requirements.
  • Successfully pass a criminal records check and fingerprint-based background check.
  • Follow all APEC safety, supervision, and program expectations
