The Role at a glance:
Como Town seeks a versatile Maintenance Technician team member to help maintain equipment, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, compressors, food service equipment and perform minor electrical duties at Como Town which is a 4-acre amusement park adjacent to the Como Zoo. Our success is dependent on teamwork and finding the best talent in the industry. We are always looking for hard-working talent to join our team. All candidates must be available to work weekends.
Temporary-to-Permanent Opportunity
We're passionate about building a team where talent is recognized, growth is encouraged, and contributions truly matter. This role starts as a temporary position, but for the right person, it's the first step toward a long-term career with us.
What you'll be doing:
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance for individual or groups of attractions rides and other equipment typically utilized in theme park attractions including but not limited to: troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems and attractions.
  • Inspections include testing, verification and/or calibration of applicable mechanical systems.
  • Respond to downtime, repair and ride recovery issues.
  • Diagnose system failures and provide immediate correction actions. Research defective mechanically controlled items/parts and instructional information to complete the repair process when needed.
  • Troubleshoot by referring to technical manuals and technical library while utilizing a systematic approach.
  • Input in ride logs: completion of inspections, corrective action and/or repairs made, and lists applicable parts used.
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, safe lifting practices and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Keep all records up to date and current in an accessible, organized fashion. (i.e. logbooks, inspection forms, etc.)
  • Ensure that the ride is clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, guest and Como Towns expectations.
  • Help maintain ride parts inventory and notify the supervisor of any materials necessary to ensure safe, continuous operation.
  • Clean maintenance shop, including but not limited to stations, equipment, and tools.
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods.

Compensation Range:
$23 -$26 per hour
