Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Big Leap Family Guidance Centers, your essential responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with primary care providers to recognize and address mental health and psychosocial issues, contributing to a comprehensive care experience.
• Conducting thorough patient intakes, focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations, and formulating recommendations concerning treatment goals and plans.
• Providing brief but impactful interventions for patients in need of immediate mental health services, adapting your approach to meet each individual's needs.
• Monitoring and following up with patients to evaluate progress and determine if treatment adjustments are necessary.
• Developing relapse prevention plans and aiding patients in maintaining stable functioning, emphasizing skills that promote long-term well-being.
• Detecting "at risk" patients and developing strategies to prevent deterioration of their mental health conditions.
• Documenting patient progress and diagnostic information comprehensively, ensuring clear communication and collaboration with primary care providers.
• Assisting patients in complying with any medical treatments initiated by their primary care provider, helping them navigate medication regimens and cope with side effects.
• Providing consultation and insights to clinic management and team members on behavioral health services to enhance program outcomes.
• Adhering to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals and completing other duties as assigned.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with adults, adolescents, and families facing a variety of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to more severe psychological conditions. Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

• A Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license to practice in Connecticut.
• Strong knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapeutic modalities, including family and group therapy methods.
• Ability to create and maintain effective relationships with patients, their families, and collaboration among interdisciplinary team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document treatment and provide consultations effectively.
• Thorough knowledge of community resources to assist patients in navigating their care.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, additional qualifications that may enhance your candidacy include:

• Fluency in both English and Spanish, which will help in serving a broader community.
• Experience using telehealth technologies, as well as familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
• Experience in behavioral health and integrative therapy practices.
• A solid understanding of DSM-V diagnoses and treatment protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

Big Leap Family Guidance Centers offers a competitive salary range of USD 87,000 – 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
