Job description

East Gibson School Corporation is looking for a part-time night shift custodian. This is a part-time position at Wood Memorial Intermediate School.

Night Shift Hours: 2:30pm - 8:00pm, with hours not exceeding 29.5 per week.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & Sanitizing
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum classrooms and hallways
  • Clean restrooms
  • Empty trash and recycling
  • Wipe desks, windows, and surfaces
  • Floor care
  • Buffing, stripping, waxing hard floors
  • shampooing
  • Light Maintenance
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Minor repairs (door hinges, furniture)
  • Report needed major repairs
  • Security
  • Lock doors and windows
  • Set alarm system
  • Event Set-up & Take-down
  • Move tables, chairs, and equipment for school events or meetings


The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of the safe use of cleaning chemicals (OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets). They will use lifting techniques and be proficient in operating equipment. All candidates will be trained in specific safety-sensitive topics, such as emergency procedures and school-specific equipment.
